Since the beginning of the year, the Montana Rescue Mission’s volunteers have served a big Easter meal to both the shelter’s long-term guests and the public, organized food and clothing storage spaces, and deep-cleaned the shelter from top to bottom.  Every day, people like you and me take time away from their jobs, family, and friends to serve those struggling through the hardest time of their lives.  These individuals are the backbone of not just the Montana Rescue Mission but the soul of charity, and we couldn’t be more grateful for them.

Because April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, we wanted to take this opportunity in this Blog post to say thank you to all our volunteers who have helped us turn our shelter into an atmosphere of peace and growth.  In the last 12 months, we have opened a new shelter, undergone a massive overhaul of our leadership, and are continuing to revamp our programs to provide the greatest possible benefit to the people we serve.  Through all these adjustments, our volunteers have still taken the time to clean, organize, and serve meals.

“The best way to make an impact in the community that I’m in is to bring together individuals who also want to give back.”  Says Kaitlyn, our Volunteer Coordinator, who has planned a Volunteer Appreciation event for this Friday, 4/24/2026.  If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do so through Facebook.  https://www.facebook.com/share/18FJWKLgjR/

We believe that each act of service in the community is a graceful blessing to someone in need, and a display of the grace of God.  Again, thank you to all our volunteers; your hard work and dedication are making a difference.  We hope you can see that difference as we can.

1 Peter 4:10 “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:”
