Groundbreaking Ceremony Huge Success

It was a great day and a great turnout for the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Montana Rescue Mission Unified Campus.

Rev. Matt Lundgren, Executive Director for the Montana Rescue Mission, opened the ceremony by welcoming the gathering of close to one hundred community members and supporters, along with city, county, and state representatives. After a short introduction and the invocation by Rev. Joshua Charette, pastor at the Great Plains Gathering, Matt introduced speakers for the event. Al Rapacz, the principal architect from Schutz Foss Architects, PC, provided a project briefing on the new campus and Don Sterhan, President of Mountain Plains Equity Group, provided remarks pertaining to the scope of this historic project. Words of thanks were extended by Kyle Lantz, MRM Development Director; followed by the Chairman of the Board for Montana Rescue Mission, Tim Mascarena giving the closing remarks. Several groups took part in the Gold Shovel Ceremony, including MRM Board Members, past board members, and the construction team for the Unified Campus. Everyone in attendance was asked to take part in a group photo and then invited to a luncheon catered and donated by Kreative Kapers at the Montana Rescue Mission main offices.

This event was a wonderful opportunity to share the vision of the Montana Rescue Mission with others and highlight how the Unified Campus will help us to better serve the homeless population in Billings. The outpouring of support during the event was truly gratifying and we thank everyone, who was able to attend, for coming.
