FAQ

Does it cost to stay at the MRM or eat there?

No. Staying or eating at one of our Missions is completely free of charge.

Do you have to be staying at MRM to eat a meal?

Anyone can eat lunch or dinner in our community dining room at the Mission for Men. At the Mission for Women & Families only guests staying at the Mission are allowed to eat there. This is to foster a sense of community for the families staying there.

Do you have to attend chapel services to stay at MRM?

Staying and eating at MRM is not dependent upon chapel attendance. Although we strongly encourage every guest to attend our multi-denominational services, they are not a requirement for staying at MRM. For those enrolled in a longer term program Chapel attendance may be required.

How long can someone stay at MRM?

Please review MRM’s policy for length of stays under the Core Services tab.

Does MRM help people with drug and alcohol rehabilitation?

The Montana Rescue Mission offers a number of referral services for various addictions. Please contact the Montana Rescue Mission at 259-6079.

Does MRM help people find jobs?

Our guests can receive training and/or employment at one of our three Bargain Centers or at one of the Missions. This employment experience can provide them with a quality job reference and work history, as well as provide them with various vocational skills. In addition, MRM is currently exploring several community partnerships to further expand our vocational training programs.

How is MRM funded?

MRM is almost exclusively funded privately through individuals and businesses, as well as through grants from non-profit Foundations. Each year individuals from Billings and the surrounding communities give their time and financial resources to keep our ministries thriving. Being privately funded also allows MRM to serve people in an uninhibited, God-honoring manner.

How do MRM’s Bargain Centers fit into the ministry?

MRM’s Bargain Centers serve a three-fold purpose for the ministry:

  • To provide income for MRM’s Mission for Men and the Mission for Women & Families.
  • To provide a practical outlet for the many donations we receive at MRM.
  • To allow the community to purchase good quality items at very reasonable prices.
